Adult kickboxing classes at Fuzion Kickboxing Academy are open to complete beginners as well as experienced students. You can start without previous martial arts training and build technique, fitness and confidence progressively.
Fuzion offers adult boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai training at its North Chingford academy.
Who are the adult classes for?
The classes suit adults with different goals. You may want to improve your fitness, learn genuine striking skills, build confidence, manage stress or follow a structured path of technical progress.
You do not need to want to fight or compete. Many students train because martial arts gives them a challenging workout with skills and goals to work towards.
Do I need to be fit before starting kickboxing?
No. Fitness is something you can develop through training. Begin at your current level, concentrate on learning the movements correctly and increase your work rate as your conditioning improves.
Consistency is more useful than trying to do everything at full intensity in your first week. If you need to slow down or take a break, tell the coach.
What will I learn in an adult kickboxing class?
Beginners start with the foundations. These normally include stance, guard, balance, footwork and basic punches or kicks. As you progress, you can work on combinations, timing, accuracy, movement and controlled partner drills.
The exact content changes between sessions. A structured programme allows students to revisit core skills while gradually adding new techniques.
What is the difference between the adult classes?
Boxing focuses on punching, footwork and defensive movement.
Kickboxing combines punches with kicks, involving both the upper and lower body.
Muay Thai is a broader striking system associated with punches, kicks, knees and close-range techniques.
You do not need to choose perfectly before you begin. A free trial lets you experience the coaching and discuss which session best matches your goals.
Will I have to spar?
No. You will not be expected to spar in your first class. Fuzion’s technical sparring session is open to students once they have developed the foundations—typically after around a month of regular training—and when the coach believes they are ready.
Technical sparring is controlled practice. It is a later stage of learning, not an entry requirement.
Can kickboxing help improve fitness?
Regular kickboxing training can develop cardiovascular fitness, coordination, balance, mobility and muscular endurance. Because the sessions involve technique as well as physical effort, many people find them more engaging than repeating a standard gym routine.
Results depend on attendance, effort, recovery and your starting point. Sustainable progress comes from training consistently.
Is there a grading system?
Fuzion uses a structured belt grading system, giving students clear skills and milestones to work towards. Grading is part of a longer training journey rather than something a beginner needs to worry about in their first class.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable sports clothing that lets you move freely and bring water. Ask Fuzion when booking what gloves, protective equipment or uniform are needed for your selected session.
Where are the adult kickboxing classes?
Fuzion Kickboxing Academy trains at St Teresa’s Hall, Station Road, North Chingford, London E4 7BJ.
The academy is convenient for adults travelling from Chingford, Highams Park, Walthamstow, Woodford, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and nearby parts of East London and Essex.
When are the adult classes?
The current timetable includes adult boxing and kickboxing sessions during the week, plus technical sparring for eligible students. Class times can change, so check the latest timetable on the Fuzion website before travelling.
