Where is Fuzion Kickboxing Academy located?

Find us at St Teresa's Hall, Station Road, North Chingford, E4 7BJ. We're right upstairs next to the CO-OP on the corner of Station Road. Can't wait to see you there!

Is a long-term membership required?

No, there's no need for a long-term commitment. We offer a rolling monthly direct debit for your convenience. Join us and train at your own pace!

Is there parking available?

There is a small car park outside. If this is full, there is street parking and a pay and display around the back of the academy, which is free after 5pm.

Can I try a class before I start training?

Of course. We offer a free trial to all new students.

Are the instructors qualified?

Yes! Our instructors bring over 30 years of experience in teaching various martial arts. They are fully insured, first aid certified, and DBS checked. You're in safe, experienced hands with us!

Will I get hurt?

Kickboxing is physical exercise and cannot be completely risk-free, but sessions are carefully coached and controlled. Beginners start gradually, work at their own pace and train with appropriate partners. You can rest at any time, and you will not be expected to spar or take part in contact work unless it is suitable and you choose to.

What do I need to bring?

Wear black sports clothing e.g. t-shirt/shorts/thai shorts and trainers and bring some water with you.

Can I join if I'm not fit?

Absolutely! Our classes welcome all fitness levels, from total beginners to superfit athletes. You'll start at a pace that's comfortable for you, and our instructors will help you gradually increase the intensity. Remember, you can always take a break if needed. You're going to do great!

What types of classes are there?

Fuzion offers adult kickboxing, adult boxing and technical sparring, plus four children’s programmes: Tiny Dragons (ages 5–6), Little Ninjas (ages 7–9), Cadets (ages 10–15) and Children’s Mixed (ages 7–15).Adult kickboxing and boxing welcome beginners. Technical sparring is available to existing Fuzion students once they have built the basics, usually after around a month of training.Children’s classes use age-appropriate drills to develop martial arts skills, fitness, coordination, discipline and confidence in a structured environment. New students can book a free trial in the class that suits their age.

Can I get personal coaching / private lessons?

We can arrange private training sessions if you want to top up your training or want to work on a specific goal. Please enquire for information about costs / times.

Is belt grading available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer belt gradings three times a year to help you achieve your goals, including reaching a black belt. With ten grades, it typically takes about three years to reach black belt. Gradings are done in a relaxed group setting, and it's perfectly fine if you prefer to train without grading. Keep pushing towards your goals!

What are your children's classes about?

Our children’s classes combine fun with structured martial arts training. We use a wide range of age-appropriate drills and games to develop fitness, coordination, character and self-defence skills while keeping children engaged and motivated to learn.

Are the classes safe for my child?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All classes taught are strictly monitored by our Black Belt instructors to ensure complete safety. All of our instructors attend regular child safety courses through recognised training bodies and are DBS checked. We also operate a recognised child safety policy and an anti-bully policy. All of our instructors are qualified in emergency first aid

Do I have to buy equipment and uniform?

When you join, you will receive your Fuzion uniform T-shirt. It is then a good idea to purchase your own gloves and pads for use in class. Please ask Rich which equipment is suitable before buying.

Will martial arts make my child aggressive?

Accepted Answer

No, infact the complete opposite. Children are taught that martial arts are not to be used as an offensive, but rather to defend oneself in certain situations. Energetic behaviour is channelled into assertiveness to increase the child’s self esteem, improve self-discipline and build character. Our programme also helps the shy child to develop self-confidence and become more confident. We do not tolerate any bullying or bad behaviour.
